Personal Philosophy

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
I think it is important for clients to understand the law and how it applies to their particular circumstances.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?
I am very eager to do so.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
I am willing to do this also.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?
I would be able to help people through difficult times. The law has always fascinated me and I have always wanted to be a part of it so that my skills could be used to help others.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?
Each day that I practice in this field, I learn more and more that helps me to be a better attorney. I also maintain the mandatory continuing legal education as directed by the State Bar of Arizona. I focus the continuing education on family law issues and ethics. Both of these keep me up to date on the current events and state of the law.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?
When I began to practice, it just "felt" right. Family law was something that I was good at and the different issues that arise get me energized. Additionally, I went through a divorce of my own very early in my career and witnessed firsthand what it does to a family. That experience led me to where I am today.

What do you like best about your career?
I like the practice the best. The people and issues are fascinating.

Tell us about your law firm:
I have an excellent paralegal named Sheri who helps with every aspect of the case and has a very good rapport with clients and other professionals. All we do is family law and related issues, so it keeps us at the front of the pack.

What are your strengths and style?
My unique strength and expertise are negotiations and the ability to settle matters amicably for my clients.

My style is generally laid back, yet on top of my case.

Personal Interests:
I love to spend time with my wife and children. They are my world and give me the strength to move forward.
